Softball Game Preview: Plainfield Panthers vs. Seymour Wildcats

The Plainfield Panthers will face off against the Seymour Wildcats on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Plainfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Wilcox RVT 14-2.

Meanwhile, Seymour waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers a 14-0 shutout.

Leah Parkosewich was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Seymour got a massive performance out of Mia Cunningham, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Cunningham has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Julianna Raucci, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run.

Seymour's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Plainfield, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
