Basketball Recap: Ames Extends Road Winning Streak to Ten

Ames lost to Norwalk back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Ames Little Cyclones strolled past the Norwalk Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 57-39. Given the Little Cyclones' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Warriors are ranked 88th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ames pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Norwalk, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ames will take on Waterloo East at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Waterloo East will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Ames surely won't give up without a fight. As for Norwalk, they will face off against Pella at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pella has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
