Baseball Recap: Kennedy Sets Scoring Season-High Against University

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennedy). They put the hurt on the University Trojans with a sharp 20-11 victory on Saturday. The Fighting Irish not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 20th (when they won 16-2).

Adrian Sanchez was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Axel Rojas, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Kennedy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for University, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.

Kennedy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 defeat against Costa Mesa on the 7th. University does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
