Baseball Game Preview: Evangel Christian Lightning vs. Wiregrass Kings

Evangel Christian has gone 8-2 against Wiregrass recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Evangel Christian Lightning will head out to square off against the Wiregrass Kings at 10:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Evangel Christian has three straight victories, Wiregrass has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

ZAC GROSSMANN made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, TREY HOPE was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Evangel Christian's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Wiregrass, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
