Baseball Recap: American Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

American Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Manti Templars. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 12-1 to the Templars when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Andrew Ward put in work no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Ward wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aryn Moody, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

American Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Manti, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

American Leadership Academy has already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Payson on the 14th. As for Manti, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-4 defeat against Emery on the 11th.
