Recap: Rehoboth Christian Lynx vs. Shiprock Chieftains

If the Rehoboth Christian Lynx were feeling good off their 67-41 takedown of the Thoreau Hawks last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rehoboth Christian took a 63-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chieftains on Monday. Rehoboth Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chieftains apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Nevaughn Begay was his usual excellent self, scoring 36 points for Shiprock. Begay is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Donte Nelson, who scored 17 points.

Rehoboth Christian's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Shiprock, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rehoboth Christian will take on the Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bosque knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully the Lynx likes a good challenge. As for Shiprock, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Miyamura is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
