Newsome made her presence known in Oakcrest's 55-39 loss
Even if Oakcrest couldn't beat Saint John Paul the Great Catholic on Thursday, underclassman Kate Newsome still had a big game. Saint John Paul the Great Catholic had no answer to Newsome as she scored 13 points along with five blocks in the loss.
Newsome and Oakcrest will head out on the road to face off against Chelsea Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Newsome hasn't had any trouble running up the score (she's averaged 15.9 per game this season), but it's looking like he'll have his work cut out for him against Chelsea Academy's dominant defense.
