Baseball Recap: Shasta Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Shasta waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Lassen Grizzlies 11-5. 11 seems to be a good number for the Wolves as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jack Peterson was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Boesiger, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Shasta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lassen only posted a batting average of .207.

Shasta's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Lassen, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shasta will head out to challenge Pleasant Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Vikings have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lassen, they are taking a road trip to square off against Central Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
