Baseball Recap: Evadale's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Evadale entered their tilt with Hull-Daisetta on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bobcats 15-0. With that win, the Rebels brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Cooper Palmer made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Evadale: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 5-8 otherwise. Palmer was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Evadale let Kayden Hubbard and Brett Buckner run wild. Hubbard went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Buckner scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Evadale is undefeated when Buckner posts two or more runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaden Gravis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Evadale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Evadale pushed their record up to 8-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Hull-Daisetta, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Evadale will take on Brookeland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hull-Daisetta, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Hull-Daisetta Bobcats face off against Big Sandy Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
