Basketball Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

Skyline and Jerome squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Skyline had to settle for second. They fell 41-33 to the Jerome Tigers. The matchup marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Skyline lost, don't look at Shay Shippen. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 42.4% of Skyline's points, marking the sixth time in a row Shippen has posted more than a third of the team's points. Ella Price was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Skyline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Jerome, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Skyline nor Jerome have any future games scheduled.
