Oakdale had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Port Barre Red Devils. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since February 22nd.

Braedan Strother spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tylon Jackson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Terance Robinson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Oakdale's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Port Barre, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15-1.

Oakdale will have a chance to go back-to-back against Port Barre: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
