Northampton extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-9. They fell 13-8 to the Chincoteague Ponies. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 18-2 to the Ponies when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ryleigh Caison was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Buck, who earned one RBI, two runs, and three stolen bases.
As for Chincoteague, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Chincoteague's side, Faith Stadler made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Stadler was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Virginia Sawyer and Marley Kinard did most of the damage at the plate: Sawyer went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Kinard got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs. The dominant performance also gave Kinard a new career-high in hits (two). E'Miyah Davis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northampton will face off against Nandua at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chincoteague, they will be playing at home against Arcadia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ponies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
