Softball Game Preview: Hanceville Bulldogs vs. Holly Pond Broncos

Hanceville hasn't had much luck against Holly Pond recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hanceville Bulldogs will be taking part in a tournament against the Holly Pond Broncos at 2:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Hanceville fell victim to West Point and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 15-0 to the Warriors. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Holly Pond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-14 heartbreaker at the hands of Pennington. Even if the Broncos couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Hanceville's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for Holly Pond, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Hanceville came up short against Holly Pond in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, falling 7-4. Can Hanceville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
