Softball Recap: Thurston Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Thurston lost to Eagle Point on Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Colts were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Colts have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kassy Anderson, who fired off three home runs and eight RBI while going 3-for-5. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Rosie Montes also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Thurston hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive games.

Thurston is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Eagle Point, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.

Coming up, Thurston will welcome Crater at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eagle Point, they will head out on the road to face off against Yreka at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
