Volleyball Recap: Brandon Takes a Loss

After a string of three wins, Brandon's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Oxford Chargers by a score of 2-1. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Brandon started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-23, 15-9.

Their offense was headlined by Mauri Mills and Zendeh Wyatt, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Mia Williams and her 19 assists. Mills was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Oxford, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coincidentally, Brandon and Oxford will both be playing Madison-Ridgeland Academy the next time they take the court. The Chargers will host the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
