Softball Recap: Avery County Comes Up Short

Avery County was the 9-8 winner over Polk County when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 12-10 on Friday.

Avery County's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Polk County, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 2-16.

Avery County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-5 defeat against Mitchell on the 27th. As for Polk County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-7 loss against Hendersonville on the 28th.
