Football Game Preview: Union Redhawks vs. Bixby Spartans + Official Tickets

The Union Redhawks are taking a road trip to take on the Bixby Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Union is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over Norman. The Redhawks haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Bixby's strategy against Norman last Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Spartans blew the Tigers out of the water with a 72-3 final score. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won nine games by 28 points or more so far this season.

Bixby's win came from a few key players Union will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carson Kirby, who threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns. Jack Gill also helped with two TDs in total.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bixby's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Dawson Madden was the leader with two. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more sacks the last three times he's played. Braeden Presley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Union's record now sits at 5-6. As for Bixby, their record is now 10-0.

Union was taken down by Bixby 34-0 in their previous meeting back in August of 2020. Thankfully for the Redhawks, Braylin Presley (who rushed for 185 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 11.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 67 receiving yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
