Basketball Recap: Ray Takes a Loss

Ray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were dealt a 54-22 loss at the hands of the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1251st, while the Eagles are ranked 548th).

Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoe Perry, who posted six points along with seven boards and four steals. Perry has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malani McClure, who put up ten points.

Ray's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-14.

Ray will square off against Miller at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, they will head out on the road to square off against Alice at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
