Gilbert came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles, falling 5-1. The loss continues a trend for Gilbert in their meetings with Gray Collegiate Academy: they've now lost six in a row.

Gilbert's goal came courtesy of Cade Hopp, who's now up to 13 this season.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record this season.
