Volleyball Recap: Trinity Catholic Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Trinity Catholic lost against Berkeley Prep on September 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Celtics took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buccaneers.

Trinity Catholic was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Berkeley Prep work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 14-25, 27-25.

When it comes to explaining why Trinity Catholic lost, don't look at Lyla Huggins. Despite the final result, she had 20 digs and four aces. Huggins has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played. Isabella Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Trinity Catholic's loss ended a five-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-9. As for Berkeley Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity Catholic will welcome Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Berkeley Prep, they will host Carrollwood Day at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
