Volleyball Recap: Sangre de Cristo Comes Up Short

Sangre de Cristo was the 3-0 winner over Creede when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunderbirds fell 3-1 to the Miners on Friday.

Sangre de Cristo actually scored more points across those four sets (89-88), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 10-25, 25-17, 25-21.

Sangre de Cristo's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-9. As for Creede, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Sangre de Cristo will welcome Del Norte on Thursday. As for Creede, they will challenge Centennial at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
