Softball Recap: Murray Tigers vs. Carlisle County Comets
Murray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against the Carlisle County Comets, falling 11-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-13 back in March.
Murray saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shia Mcnutt, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Mayla Smith was another, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Murray's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Carlisle County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Looking ahead, Murray will square off against Mayfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.91 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carlisle County, they will face off against Lake County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
