Recap: Walker Wildcats vs. Archbishop Rummel Raiders
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Thomas Aquinas, the Walker Wildcats were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Archbishop Rummel with a sharp 55-35 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Walker also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2018.
When it comes to explaining why Archbishop Rummel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jackson Cosentino. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. Cosentino scored a full 37.1% of Archbishop Rummel's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Walker back to even at 1-1. As for Archbishop Rummel, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Walker will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Zachary at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Archbishop Rummel, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Kennedy at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Kennedy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Archbishop Rummel is ranked 37th).
