Volleyball Recap: Lila Scott and Anya Bosmans Secure Win for Madison East + How To Watch

Madison East hadn't done well against Madison La Follette recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Purgolders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Lancers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Purgolders have posted since September 9th.

Madison East wouldn't go down easily and took Madison La Follette into a fifth set where they got it done with a 13-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 12-25, 25-18, 15-2.

Leading Madison East to victory were Anya Bosmans and Lila Scott. Bosmans had 13 digs and three aces, while Scott had seven kills, five aces, four digs, and one block. That's the most aces Bosmans has posted since back in September. Sheila Gandjui also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Madison East was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are 5-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Madison East's victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-21. As for Madison La Follette, their loss dropped their record down to 10-18.

Madison East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Janesville Parker on the 15th. As for Madison La Follette, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Milton at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
