Baseball Recap: Hattiesburg Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hattiesburg can now relate to. They lost 16-1 to the Pearl River Central Blue Devils on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Tyler Weatherspoon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Ramarion Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Hattiesburg dropped their record down to 15-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Pearl River Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-10.

While Hattiesburg had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
