Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hueytown). They walked away with a 43-36 victory over the McAdory Yellowjackets on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Golden Gophers in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won eight in a row.
A big part of Hueytown's victory came down to the chemistry between Kobe Coleman and his top target Quentrell Jackson. Coleman picked up 112 receiving yards and one TD while Jackson picked up 123 receiving yards and one touchdown.
McAdory's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derrion Davis, who rushed for 99 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. The Yellowjackets also got a significant boost from Kawann Johnson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
Hueytown now has a winning record of 4-3. As for McAdory, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
