Volleyball Recap: Seven Straight Road Victories for Cordova

Cordova waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Kennedy Cougars. For the Lancers, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-17, 25-18.

Kennedy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Owen Yang, who had eight digs and two aces, and Jordan Li, who had 15 digs. That's the most digs Yang has posted over his last seven contests. Ben Lee also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Cordova pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kennedy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.

Coming up, Cordova will host Grant at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kennedy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Florin on the 21st.
