Holyoke and Chicopee are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Purple Knights will square off against the Pacers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Holyoke and 11 for Chicopee.

Easthampton/Hampshire hit Holyoke with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Purple Knights came up short against the Eagles, falling 11-0.

Meanwhile, Chicopee fell victim to Agawam and their airtight pitching crew last Wednesday. They lost 11-0 to the Brownies. That's two games in a row now that the Pacers have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Chicopee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Holyoke, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Holyoke took their win against Chicopee when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 14-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Purple Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
