Basketball Recap: La Jolla's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but La Jolla unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost to the Mira Mesa Marauders on the road by a 69-53 margin. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Marauders are ranked 110th).

Despite the loss, La Jolla still got an impressive performance from Lance Braga, who went 9 for 15 en route to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Braga's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Carson Diehl was another key player, putting up six points and ten boards.

La Jolla's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Mira Mesa, their record is now 14-2.

La Jolla will challenge Point Loma at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Point Loma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.9 points per game this season. Mira Mesa has already played their next game (against Coronado), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
