Softball Recap: Minden Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Minden ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Castor Tigers. This was a revenge game for the Crimson Tide: when they faced off against the Tigers back in February, they had to take a 9-6 loss.

Lindsay Ryan made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over eight innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Audrey Frye, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kylie Ferguson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Minden's record now sits at 12-14. As for Castor, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Minden by a score of 11-9 later that day.
