The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will start their season against the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.

New Smyrna Beach is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Matanzas with a sharp 25-0 victory.

New Smyrna Beach's win bumped their record up to 1-0.

As for Fleming Island, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they had a phenomenal run, finishing with a superb 15-1 record.

Fleming Island didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against New Smyrna Beach in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 7-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fleming Island since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
