Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Comes Up Short

St. Joseph lost against Saint Mary's Hall back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. Joseph Flyers fell 40-28 to the Saint Mary's Hall Barons. The Flyers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Saint Mary's Hall to victory were Maddie Florence and Genesis Edwards Johnson. Florence almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals, while Edwards Johnson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Florence is becoming a predictor of Saint Mary's Hall's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 6-2 (and 7-9 when she doesn't).

St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Saint Mary's Hall, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Looking ahead, St. Joseph will head out to challenge St. Joseph Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Saint Mary's Hall, they will challenge San Antonio Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
