Volleyball Recap: Coral Shores Takes a Loss

Coral Shores was the 3-0 winner over Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hurricanes fell just short of the Stallions by a score of 3-2 on Monday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Coral Shores sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Coral Shores still got an impressive performance from Ivy Tiedemann, who had 21 digs and six assists. Tiedemann is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Coral Shores dropped their record down to 9-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Coral Shores will challenge Westwood Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) will be paying especially close attention to the Hurricanes' matchup: after the Hurricanes face off against the Warriors, they'll take on Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) again at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
