The Kennedy Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Pittsburg Pirates at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Kennedy was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Deer Valley on Wednesday. Kennedy's pitcher stepped up to hand Deer Valley a 26-0 shutout. That 26 run margin sets a new team best for the Titans this season.

Ethan Kennedy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-6. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kennedy got a massive performance out of Nick Owsley, who got on base in all seven of his plate appearances with six RBI, four runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave Owsley a new career-high in RBI. Hunter Padilla was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Kennedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Pittsburg put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past De Anza 13-1. The Pirates' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Desmond Toomer looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, J'Marion Bella was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Diego Deluna, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Kennedy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pittsburg, their record now sits at 5-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Kennedy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Pittsburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kennedy suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Pittsburg in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
