Basketball Recap: Devine Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Devine can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 75-74 to the Manor New Tech Titans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (59), the Warhorses / Arabians still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Devine lost, don't look at Mason Beaver. Despite the final result, he went 13-for-19 on his way to 29 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ray'Sean Beaver, who posted seven points along with 12 assists and four steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manor New Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Kinard, who shot 60% from the field en route to 32 points in addition to eight boards and eight steals. The contest was Kinard's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Kingston Colter was another key player, dropping a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds.

The defeat snapped Devine's winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 25-13 record. As for Manor New Tech, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 29-6.

Devine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manor New Tech, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-46 loss against La Marque on the 3rd.
