Basketball Recap: Will Jones JR.'s Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pacifica over Rio Mesa

Pacifica played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 80-54 to the Rio Mesa Spartans. The Tritons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Pacifica's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Jones JR., who posted 20 points and six rebounds. Jones JR. is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jayden Britt, who had 13 points and five boards.

Pacifica has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Rio Mesa, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing San Marcos the next time they take the court. Pacifica will host San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Rio Mesa will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
