Softball Recap: Redmond Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Redmond waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Eastlake Wolves by a score of 8-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-5 back in March.

Ainsley Barcalow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maggie Enich and Kati Cygan did most of the damage at the plate: Enich went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and one RBI, while Cygan scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most triples Enich has posted since back in March. Aubrey Bauer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Redmond was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastlake only posted a batting average of .258.

Redmond's record is now 14-2-1. As for Eastlake, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Coming up, Redmond will face off against Issaquah at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eastlake, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Liberty at 4:30 p.m.
