Bishop McNamara extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 10-4. They blew past the Chicago Christian Knights 11-3. The result was nothing new for the Fightin' Irish, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Joslynn Dole made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Bishop McNamara got a massive performance out of Emma Thyfault, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Thyfault a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rhaya DePaolo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Bishop McNamara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
As for Chicago Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since March 20th.
On Chicago Christian's side, Abby Moro made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenna Schaafsma, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Bishop McNamara is taking a road trip to take on Kankakee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chicago Christian, they will challenge Latin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
