Softball Game Preview: Butler Golden Tornado vs. North Allegheny Tigers

Butler is 0-10 against North Allegheny since May of 2016 but things could change on Friday. Butler will square off against North Allegheny at 4:00 p.m.

Butler is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Norwin.

Kyra Olivares spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Butler saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alaina Dailey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Meanwhile, North Allegheny earned a 7-3 win over Canon-McMillan on Thursday.

North Allegheny's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Butler, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1.

Butler suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to North Allegheny in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Butler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
