Soccer Game Preview: Prosper vs. Plano West

The Prosper Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Plano West Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prosper will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Prosper was able to grind out a solid victory over Princeton, taking the game 3-1. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Princeton with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hayden Crotts, Logan Garrison, and Lucas Tauzin.

Meanwhile, Plano West hasn't lost a match since January 14th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Princeton. Given Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Panthers are ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Plano West is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-3-2 record this season. As for Prosper, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Prosper came up short against Plano West when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 3-1. Can Prosper avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
