Baseball Recap: Morgan Township Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Morgan Township's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Portage Indians on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cherokees in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost six in a row.

Morgan Township saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clint Lemmons, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Morgan Township's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Portage, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgan Township will host Culver Academies at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portage, they will square off against Merrillville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
