Baseball Recap: Sparta Takes a Loss

Sparta came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Billings Wildcats, falling 13-3. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Sparta saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylen Luttrull, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Luttrull has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Billings, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Sparta will head out to challenge Cassville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Billings, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
