Everything went their way against Berry as South Mecklenburg made off with a 15-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Sabres considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Gabe Luke-Judy looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Andrew Gerow was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1. Jack Devitt was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cooper Gornet, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Matt McKnight, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
South Mecklenburg now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Charlotte Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Mecklenburg has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .488. However, it's not like Charlotte Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
