Baseball Recap: Indianapolis Lutheran Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Indianapolis Lutheran walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Knightstown Panthers on Saturday as they made off with a 14-4 win. Considering the Saints have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Indianapolis Lutheran let Masen Phelps and Owen Lecher run wild. Phelps went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one run, and one double, while Lecher went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave Phelps a new career-high. Gage Meaney was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and three RBI.

Indianapolis Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Knightstown, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-5.

As of now, neither Indianapolis Lutheran nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
