Recap: Milford Scarlet Hawks vs. Archbishop Williams Bishops
The Milford Scarlet Hawks pushed their score all the way to 67 on Sunday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 77-67 to Archbishop Williams. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Milford came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Archbishop Williams is ranked 205th).
Despite the defeat, Milford had strong showings from Andrew Rivera, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds, and CJ Farrell, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Rivera has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. Luca Testa was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Milford's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Archbishop Williams, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
Milford will be playing at home against Taunton at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Taunton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 games -- so hopefully Milford likes a good challenge. As for Archbishop Williams, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Feehan at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Williams is coming into the match with three straight wins on the road, so Bishop Feehan is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
