The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Golddiggers on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since August 30th.
SkyView Academy was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (104-98), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-22, 25-19, 20-25, 15-13.
Heritage Christian extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Abby Leveillee. The Eagles came out on top against Highland by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Leveillee, who had 25 digs and four aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Heritage Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-20.
SkyView Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Heritage Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
