The Fairfield Eagles can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They escaped with a win against Centerville by the margin of a single free throw, 51-50. The victory was just what Fairfield needed coming off of a 73-43 loss in their prior matchup.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Newman, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Newman hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Neyland, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Centerville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

Fairfield won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carthage at 10:30 a.m. on December 29th. Carthage has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
