Woodside is 8-2 against Denbigh since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolverines will challenge the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Woodside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Woodside came out on top against Bethel on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Wolverines took their matchup against the Bruins 8-4.

Adam Holloway

Adam Holloway made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Holloway was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Moody, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Woodside: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Connor Castillo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Meanwhile, Denbigh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Warwick, falling 14-6. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly eight runs.
Jah'Son Smith made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Gavin Swain, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Woodside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Denbigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Woodside has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Denbigh struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Woodside came out on top in a nail-biter against Denbigh in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
