Baseball Game Preview: Kent Island Buccaneers vs. St. Michaels Saints

Kent Island is 1-8 against St. Michaels since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Buccaneers will head out to challenge the Saints at 4:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Kent Island came up short against Bennett and fell 6-1.

Meanwhile, St. Michaels had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Jaguars. Considering the Saints have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Michaels pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Kent Island, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Kent Island might still be hurting after the 16-8 loss they got from St. Michaels in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
