Basketball Game Preview: South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls vs. Southwestern Randolph Cougars

The South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls are taking a road trip to face off against the Southwestern Randolph Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Stanly will be strutting in after a win while Southwestern Randolph will be coming in after a defeat.

South Stanly took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Union Academy by a score of 55-48.

Meanwhile, Southwestern Randolph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Uwharrie Charter Academy, falling 71-42. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Eagles are ranked 208th).

Southwestern Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for South Stanly, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

South Stanly came up short against Southwestern Randolph when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 45-39. Can South Stanly avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
